Mulled Wine/ Gluehwein / Glühwein

Cozy up with this Mulled Wine Recipe!

Make yourself a cup of aromatic Gluehwein. This warm and spicy drink is just what you need on a winter evening. And it smells like Holiday!

  1. Start by peeling the Zest from 1/2 of one Orange.

  2. Now, juice the peeled Orange. Don’t forget to strain the juice before adding it to the wine.

  3. Cut the second Orange into round pieces. You can later put these pieces into cups with Glühwein as decoration.

  4. In a pot combine 750 ml (1 bottle) of Red Wine with Orange Zest, Orange Juice and Orange cuts. Add 3/4 (150 g) Sugar. If you prefer your Wine to be less sweet, consider adding less amount of Sugar.

  5. Now, add 2 Cinnamon sticks, 5 Star Anise and 10 Whole Cloves to the pot.

6. Put the pot on a medium heat and warm the mixture until it just starts steaming, make sure it’s not boiling.

7. Lower the heat and continue simmering for about 20-30 minutes.

8. Remove from heat and serve right away!
